I need some computer advice? :(?

Okay, so our family computer recently got a virus that has shut down task manager as well as many other options on our computer. I'm aware that we have to reset our system, but until that gets done there are still some programs that I need that are not on my laptop. For example, itunes. All of my songs are on the main computer. I'm wondering if i download any songs and then update my ipod that it will corrupt my ipod and/or itunes as well. I can wait if it will, but I really want to put some songs on my ipod. :-\. anybody have any experience with this?I need some computer advice? :(?

It's not a matter of attacking the iPod directly it is a matter of attacking a USB or Firewire mass storage device.





It is quite possible that the iPod can get a virus, it could be a large text file, or a text file with linking in it that would take up the CPU. it also wouldn't be difficult to build a virus that lives on the computer and searches out the ipod when it's connected (Their is a signature to each removable device) and corrupt the system files on the ipod, or to rewrite the system boot so the ipod doesn't launch. these have all been done to a computer, so there's no reason why it couldn't happen to an iPod, since it is essentialy a computer.





also, viruses that corrupt files are called worms. and they don't actually corrupt them, they just overwrite some of the file data with the viral code so that it can replicate itself. I've done some research into this, I purposely stuck an infected file on my iPod, let it run over night, did a virus scan the next day, and it had indeed spread. even though the boot sequence for an ipod is different from windows or a mac, virus compilers can always find ways around this.

i suggest you use malware bytes it's an extremely good program i have tried all of them but this in my opnion can remove every sort or computer virus without harming any files on your pc

install it on your iPod using your LAPTOP, NOT THE INFECTED PC





restart your INFECTED pc in safe mode, then connect your iPod. Run ClamWin and allow it to disinfect it
i would suggest you to use a better protection for your computer..
