Computer advice!!!! please?

Saw a computer to buy that is pentium 4, 2.8Ghz, 512M Ram, 40GB Hard Drive its second hand


At the moment ours is penitium 2, 400Mhz, 256 Ram and 9.40G





Is it worth it buy the second hand one? although it has no moniter can it be applicable to any monitor? And to any keyboard or mouse

Sounds good and it will be alot better and faster than your old one. It is also a good price. You can get a brand new one at dell.com for 350. Hope you get this one as I answered your last one about 30 mins ago.Computer advice!!!! please?
i would not buy it i would spend 400 or 500 dollars and get something up to date.

Break this problem down, step by step.





You now have:


1. Pentium 2, 400 Megahertz - NFG.


2. 256 RAM - NFG.


3. 9.4 Gigabytes HDD, - NFG.


(PS: NFG means N- F------ G---.)





You saw one you can get:


1. Pentium 4, 2.8 Ghz OK but not for long.


2. 512 Meg RAM - NFG because it just ain't enough, you should have at least 1Gig RAM.


3. 40 Gig HDD, NFG, because it will soon be full.


PS: It's a second hand (no warranties).


The monitor doesn't matter, right.





SO:


To get it good enough, you would need a bigger HDD and more RAM.


A bigger HDD = about $70.


More RAM = about $70, to 1Gig.





So: $250 + 70 + 70 = $390.


You can get a brand new comp (Pentium 4,


3 Ghz, 100+Gigabyte HDD with 1Gig RAM for about $400-$500 (and it is NEW with a warranty).





If you are willing to get a used one, you can find a much better deal, (check the classifieds in any newspaper.
so youll need a motherboard and another hard drive and an os by the time you get all that you could go to walmart and buy there low end new pc and get a much better deal
I would not buy second hand. For what you need you can find


computer for $250-$300 dollars on one of the big sales after rebates. Buy new , it will give you more guarantees.
