I have a Vista computer connected to my home network. When I turn it on, it crashes my network. Any advice?

I have three computers on the network, a laptop connected via wireless router, an XP machine connected wired through the router, and the Vista machine connected wired through the router. Everything worked fine for about two months, then one day I turned the Vista machine on and it crashed my network. It even makes all the lights, except the link light, go out on my cable modem. I've tried reloading to the last known good point and that didn't work. I've tried changing some of the security settings also.I have a Vista computer connected to my home network.
