New computer advice.?

So, I'm getting a new computer, custom built from www.vantagecomputers.co.uk. I'm using the speakers, monitor, keyobard, mouse, printer and scanner from my current PC. I want a computer that will be able to keep up with new game releases for a while and generally be a good computer. I want to know if you guys think I should make any changes to what I have planned, bearing in mind I do not want to spend a huge amount of money.

Okay I actually got on the site and looked at what they had. This is a pretty good configuration. Now you said you wanted to be able to keep up with new releases for a while, so I would have to recommend changing the processor to the E6600 and the video card to the 7900GT. The only other thing I would recommend if you can afford it is to change the power supply to the 600W thermaltake.New computer advice.?
For gaming I'd double the RAM .. another 512 chip. You can always add it later. 3.0Ghz will scream! I'd also suggest a writeable DVD/CD drive, for ease in backing up system. The upgrade shouldn't be much. I don't burn a lot but when I need to it's handy.
well i think you should just upgrade yours .. just by getting a newer motherboard and proccessor and a better video card you could save yourself quite a bit of money .. and i recommend the amd line of proccessors the run cooler and are more reliable the intel chips plus they are cheaper = ) and usually so are their mainboards

one thing is suggest is go for dual core 2 processor rather than 64bit one coz 64bit ones are still at evolution stages they arent complete products so go for dual core 2 it will really rock believe me have a nice day
add at least the geforce 7800 also your going to need more memory if you do hardcore gaming like i do. use like 2 GB of memory believe me it helps. you can't use 2 different graphics cards. also if you want to run SLI. (two cards) on the nvidia cards you want to have at least a 650watt power supply. you don't need 2 disk drives. or hard drives. and a floppy is useless.
I crashed my first XP by using OLDER hardware and had get a new one.

Be aware that if you are upgrading to XP operating system from an older system such as ME or 98 then you should get all new hardware for it.

Windows XP does not like OLD hardware and and most of the OLDER software as well They may cause the computer to malfunction or not work at all. I crashed my first XP by using OLDER hardware.
