Gaming/media computer advice?

Hey guys i was wondering whether someone could give me some advice. I've been looking at this computer here on ebay

and what i'm wanting to do is upgrade the ram and graphics card, i basically want to use this unit as a media pc connected to my lcd and i need something which is fast enough to play the sims 3 as currently my laptop with a Turion 64 x2 cpu is struggling a bit. So will this procssor be any faster?





I don't know much about intel processors, would the dual core xeon processor be any faster? As i said i do plan to upgrade the ram and graphics card if i buy this computer base, but i just need to know if the cpu it decent enough or?

ok... you can buy a pre-built gaming pc for 700 quid





anyway a xeon processor is actually for a workstation and an AMD equivalent would be an Opteron...

this system would last you a great length of time...although if you are only intending to play Sim3 and not of a game which requires more performance...than it would be an overkill.... but nevertheless it would be better than your laptop
