Computer advice- did I fix it? or not? HELP!?

I had something corrupt my computer. I got all kinds of errors and nothing really worked. A scan kept coming up with the trojan virus. It wouldn't let me do anything to fix it. So, I ran a system restore on my computer. Everything is now working perfect. Is it OK now? Or should I purchase some sort of Spyware program?Computer advice- did I fix it? or not? HELP!?
in safe mode F8 run malwarebytes anti-malware and SUPERAntispyware, and what they find you

delete it manually. then run ccleaner to cleand your pc, and mvregclean, to clean registry.

what mvregclean find you remove because the key is there but not the file ,folder or program.

even you reformat and it finds anything remove dont be afraid.

Scan your PC again and see if the problem is still detected to see if the system restore took care of it. If the problem is still there, you can install another antivirus/antispyware program and that should solve it. Try Lavasoft Ad-Aware. I've always had success with it, plus it's free.
To protect your PC in the future you need to use anti-virus software and a firewall, id recommend using Avast and Comodo Pro firewall both are very effective and completely free, you should also switch to Firefox 3 if you are browsing with IE as its much safer. (links on my profile)
