Need to replace my 8 year old computer, advice would be nice?

hi, i have an old system which doesn't have enough RAM (128mb) its so slow, but online firm, crucial, com, said it wont take any more RAM. im a bit skint but need xp or vista for virgin broadband and would like to watch tv online which means i could sell tv to raise money (and space in flat) and get flat widescreen but what kind of computer do i need to watch tv on? i cant watch it on present computer, do i need some sort of card on intended new computer? would 256mb be much cheaper than 512mb? any advice would be appreciated.

if you could give me an idea of price please, and recommend store. thank youNeed to replace my 8 year old computer, advice would be nice?
You can buy a new computer for $230 at BestBuy (Last I was there at least) I think it had like 2GB of RAM. Forget upgrading your old comp since it can't support anymore RAM.Need to replace my 8 year old computer, advice would be nice?
I'm assuming you're in the UK (';space in flat';). I've purchased many computers for my company through Dell's online outlet store http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/produc鈥?/a> You can get a very decent machine for under $300 US.

If you buy new, don't get a computer with less than 1gb RAM, as newer operating systems don't run well with insufficient RAM..especially if you want to view streaming video online, etc. Generally, the more RAM, the better.
deskptop now days due to economic crisis around 500$ a very good one and a decent laptop around the same price most pc now have at least 1gb ram 2-4gb be nice and hardrive around 200gb+ bestbuy 4 laptop desktop i would buy from ebay a custom build if only u have xp operation system cd if not bestbuy
Time to upgrade to a newer system. For a few hundred $$$ you could get a system that is a lot better, and you could watch TV on it.
get a flame thrower and torch that!

no but seriously your best bet is to go get a cheap one at best buy. or where ever. a decent computer are relatively cheap these days.

hope this helped
Well if you want to watch TV you need a TV-tuner card. You can customize a PC with one or install one yourself in a PCI slot.

For computers Newegg is a good one. Generally these days you can get computers with over 2GB of RAM and a dual-core for around $450.

Slap in a $30 TV tuner and you're good to go.
