Can you buy a decent computer at wal-mart? Computer advice?

Can you buy a decent computer at wal-mart? our wal-mart doesn't have the greatest selection, but i could get one online and have it shipped to our store.. I don't know a whole lot about computers and ive never bought one before just used alot of pass down ones. . I want one that will play at least Sims 2 well (my current one wont) which I'm sure isn't that hard to come by now, heres a link to the Minimum System Requirements for Sims 2, http://thesims2.ea.com/help/detail.php?h…

Could someone maybe recommend one off the wal-mart website? or help give me an idea what to look for? i mean i know how to check the requirements and stuff, but i don't know like, is one brand better than others? Does it matter if its a intel or amd processor? or stuff like that. How much should i expect to spend? Would it be better to goto Best Buy? We don't have one locally but theres one 2 hours away. Or maybe another website? My boyfriend wants to build one, off tigerdirect. but i dunno about that, he knows alot more about computers than i do, but i have a feeling it would be a long drawn out process and take forever. Oh and i dont need a monitor or speakers and stuff, we just got new speakers, and i'd rather pick out a keyboard at the store so i can play with them first :P

I was kinda thinking about this one.. but i dunno, i dont think it says what kind of video it has. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d…

Is that one a good deal? or is there a better one?Can you buy a decent computer at wal-mart? Computer advice?
The only problem with this PC is that the video card is integrated on the motherboard, %26amp; may not be powerful enough for gaming at a satisfactory level of quality.

On top of that there are no free expansion slots should you ever want to install a better video card to replace that one. This PC should definitely be avoided for that reason alone.

I strongly suggest you go with Intel an Core2Duo for gaming. Even AMD fans like myself have to admit that they are better performers for gamers %26amp; power users.

Best Buy is an excellent place to buy a PC. They have great choices, %26amp; if you look for specials you can't go wrong. I know you already have a monitor, but look at this one just as an example. It has an incredibly powerful CPU (Quad Core 6600) with 4GB of ram %26amp; free expansion slots to upgrade the video card and add other devices in the future. It also comes with a 21.6” Widescreen LCD Monitor which you can sell if you don't need.

All that for $699.99 :

It might also be a good idea to wait a few weeks because places like Best Buy are sure to offer incredible deals during their Xmas sale.

You would get a good computer from Wal-Mart, but I would shop around to find a better deal. Their computers are kind of expensive and you could get something better for a better price.
That computer is a rip off. You get the best deal if you custom build your own from a site such as http://www.newegg.com/

You can also buy pre built systems from newegg.
check with circuit city or office max. Holiday deals are out but watch you self.look for upgradable products are best.
