My microphone for my computer is having feedback problems. Any advice?

Every microphone I have gotten for this computer has had a problem with feedback. If I am for example listening to a song the song will be fed into the mics output so the other people I am talking to will be able to hear the song too but louder. I am not sure what is causing this. I am using computer headphones and an attached mic with the headset. Any ideas of what I can do to fix this?My microphone for my computer is having feedback problems. Any advice?
thats probably why. A microphone is for your voice and not for other things. When playing music, it will cause feedback because of background noise. Double click the speaker icon on the task tray in the lower right corner of your computer. Then, go to Options, and change the mixer device to the input instead of output. Now, you may have some advanced options that help with feedback. If you are playing through your speakers as well, your mic and speakers may be too close, that will cause feedback as well.
